Sabey Data Centers – The Natural Advantage

Seattle has 226 cloudy days every year – but who’s counting? We are! The temperate climate is perfect for keeping data center operations cool and operating costs low. And all that rain provides hydro-energy – the cleanest and lowest-cost source for your critical mission requirements.

Sabey Data Centers’ highly efficient airside economizer and evaporative cooling design means that temperatures can be maintained at the ideal level inside the data center without use of mechanical equipment for 95% of the year. That alone may cut 40 – 70% off an energy bill, depending on the operation.

We know data centers. With over 1.7 million square feet of data center space, Sabey Corporation is the leading provider in the Pacific Northwest. Our flagship facility at Intergate.Seattle is the largest privately-owned campus on the West Coast and accommodates a full range of data center types from some of the world’s most prominent enterprises such as Microsoft and T-Mobile to retail colocation companies such as SAVVIS and Internap.

At Intergate. East, we’ve invested over $25 million in power infrastructure to supply 77 MW to this 75-acre campus. We will invest more to meet the expansion needs of our Tenants. Sabey also has invested over $6 million in fiber. The robust high capacity infrastructure plus the unique location ensures a secure, reliable environment for data center operations.

We are writing to introduce you to our two newest facilities: SDC52, which already is constructed and ready for occupancy and Intergate. Quincy, which is currently under design for our site in North Central Washington. Either may fit your needs.

SDC52 at Intergate.East is our new modular facility. SDC52 comprises three 10,000 square feet (sf) modules with shared critical environment using state of the industry cooling to reduce costs and create a “green” facility while maintaining a Tier 3 type data center rating. The Critical Environment for all three modules is maintained by our Sabey Data Center personnel. SDC52, like all Sabey Data Centers, is powered by low-cost, renewable hydro-electric power. Completed in 2009, SDC52 is already occupied by:

  • Providence Health & Services, a major player among the Pacific Northwest’s health care providers, has moved into 5,000 sf in module 52-03
  • King County has taken 7,500 sf in module 52-01
  • Suite 52-02 with 10,435 sf is currently available

Intergate.Quincy Data Center - Site PlanIntergate.Quincy is planned in the same vicinity where several major companies, including Microsoft, Yahoo, Ask.com and Intuit, have opened large data centers recently, drawn by the area’s low power rates, mild climate and receptive municipalities.

Our initial design is for Intergate.Quincy- Building C. It will consist of approximately 134,000 sf divided among one to four modules with use of a common area for conference room, shipping and receiving, loading dock and secure storage. Each module will comprise approximately 25,000 sf of space including 12,200 sf of data center and support space and approximately 13,000 sf of storage/common area per module.

Current plans also call for two 189,000 sf data center buildings based on our highly successful Intergate.Columbia model.
