FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: November 12, 2008
Seattle, Washington -- The publisher of Seattle Business, Seattle Magazine, Northwest Meetings and Events, Seattle Bride and Urban Pages will merge the assets of Washington CEO into its Seattle Business operations and begin producing the titles under the Tiger Oak Publications banner. Washington CEO magazine has been owned and operated by Tukwila-based development and investment firm Sabey Corp.
“We look forward to the continued growth of Seattle Business through this acquisition,” said Associate Publisher John Kueber. “Washington CEO is a title we have long respected as a competitor, and we look forward to continuing their tradition of compelling events and insightful coverage for the business leaders of Washington State.”
The combination of the two titles should be a natural fit. Jeff Bond, editor of Seattle Business, is the former managing editor of Washington CEO. “I look forward to once again serving the readers of Washington CEO,” Bond said.
“I operated Washington CEO even though it wasn’t core to our business because I believe the business community needs a strong and respected voice,” said Dave Sabey, Chairman of Sabey Corp. "We made the decision in these challenging economic times that the best way to preserve a voice was by merging CEO into Seattle Business. The Tiger Oak people are publishing professionals with enough size and experience that they can take a business magazine to the next level. We think the business community and in particular our advertisers will be well served by this merger."
All current paid subscribers to Washington CEO will receive a complimentary one-year subscription to Seattle Business.
