SDC52 at Intergate.East
3355 South 120th Pl - Seattle, WA 98168
Introducing SDC52 at Intergate.Seattle – the latest in fully conditioned critical environments to keep your essential services cool, flexible, secure and efficient.

Large-scale efficiency for mid-scale data center operations

SDC52 is Sabey DataCenters new modular colocation facility located in Intergate.Seattle, Sabey’s flagship data center. SDC52 brings to smaller data center operators the same economies of scale and features as the largest tenants enjoy.

Each of SDC52’s pods offers critical environment and support space for operations in the range of 5k – 10k sq feet. A Tier 3 facility, SDC52 has full N+1 redundancy and server power of 150 watts per square foot. The facility’s critical environments are backed by four 115,000 CFM air handlers with 300 ton chillers and four Caterpillar 2.5 megawatt generators.

Energy efficiency foremost

To achieve the ultimate in cost-effective cooling, we couple the Pacific Northwest’s abundant, renewable hydroelectric power and its famously moderate climate - perfect for economizer or “free cooling” – with an evaporative air handler system. This design bypasses power hungry compressors or chillers, providing the most efficient, least cost cooling solution.

SDC52 will accommodate 4,500 kilowatts of IT load configured on diverse paths, ensuring an extremely high level of power availability. Typically this would make UPS loading less efficient; however, SDC52 offsets this effect by using distributed redundant topology in a 4-to-make-3 line-up. This allows the UPS modules to run near 60% or higher loading compared to 45% loading in a 2N scenario – with little if any loss of reliability.

During Integrated Systems Testing, Power Utilization Effectiveness as low as 1.18 was recorded.

Cooled by nature

The power efficiency of SDC52’s design is enhanced by Seattle’s mild climate which allows the use of evaporative, economizer cooling. This design is expected to eliminate the need for mechanical cooling for well over 95% of the year. A redundant chiller plant capable of handling 100% of the load is available if required.

Power Player’s Award

Although Washington State is known for its aggressive data center energy code, SDC52’s design far exceeded it, saving an additional estimated six million kilowatt hour annually at full build-out. SDC52’s superior energy efficiency was recognized by Seattle City Light with a Power Players award for achievement in Energy Conservation.
