Highway 99 and Foster High School

Joe Sabey was presented with an award by the City of Tukwila's Community Oriented Policing Citizens Advisory Board (COPCAB)

Joe Sabey is the company's coordinator with the Tukwila Highway 99 Action Committee, a community action group whose goal is to reduce crime by keeping this thoroughfare clean. Monthly, Sabey and other members of the community, led by business owner Mike West, patrol the highway's sidewalk area. Tukwila's residential turnover is high and recruiting new volunteers is always a challenge, although the committee works hard to recognize those who contribute.

When the Foster High School Football team asked for a donation, Joe seized the opportunity and challenged the school to earn the donation by helping their community. The team responded with energy, earning $20 for each student who turned out. Fifty hours later, the team is resplendent in $1,000 of new sweatshirts and equipment.
